SITUATION
Emerson was in the process of consolidating several locations
and taking on additional lease space. The company wanted to share
a new system and the associated expenses but still needed to
operate autonomously. The client had contacted their current
service provider that had installed a system three years ago.
The client found that the system had been discontinued and would
no longer be supported by the vendor. The client then determined
that they would accept bids from other vendors for a replacement
solution. System management was important to the client, and
the client wanted to ensure that a number of highly trained technicians
where available in the area.
SOLUTION
Co-nexus designed a single solution that would function as multiple,
distinct systems to satisfy the client's requirements. A single
administrator can manage the system or each group can manage
their own entity within the system. Co-nexus assisted with
the selection and management of the carrier services to address
the client's needs. The system was installed on a phased approach
to meet the clients staggered installation timeframe. The operators
utilize wireless so that they can handle items away from the
console but never miss a call.
RESULTS
Each of the separate companies can now communicate by dialing
3 digits. Siemens telephone sets are so powerful yet simple
to operate, per user productivity increases are a natural.
The company has reduced their expenses by sharing in the communications
system versus purchasing several systems as required from other
manufacturers. The system is capable of networking to other
Emerson locations if desired at some point in the future. Emerson
can rest assured that the new system (unlike the previous manufacturer)
will not be discontinued and offers scalability to 100's of
thousands of ports. |
